S. Astrid Bin is a Canadian performance and media artist. She was reluctantly granted a degree by the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2003 with a major in sculpture and installation, although all she ever made was performance art. Since then she has been experimenting and exhibiting wherever she can with whatever she can. Her work hinges on simple, interactive, playful performances and live installations that manipulate and provoke the audience in subtle and meaningful ways. She does not believe that art is a spectator sport.

Past endeavours have included taping herself naked to a floor, getting her hands caught in mousetraps, being kissed by hundreds of people, shaving her head, guerrilla filmmaking, making a picture of a bird out of 538 pieces of toast, documenting an attempt at making a million dollars in a year, occupying a phone box for 24 hours and making a scarf for a building. She has received hate mail, death threats and international press.
