I dressed up all cute and carried around a box that said BUY MY LOVE – 25 CENTS, and implored strangers very politely to give up a quarter for my love. As soon as the coin hit the bottom of the box I turned into their angry, agressive, emotionally unstable, pathalogically jealous, demanding girlfriend. They could not dump me, get their money back or stop my love; they had to wait until someone else bought me. As soon as my affection had been bought by someone else they received a card congratulating them on surviving Astrid’s love.

I was very surprised by the number of people who said “I saw how you treated that other guy but I thought I would be different” and “Wow, you remind me of my ex.”
